The curtains were stopped because they were too close to the window frames to hold the curtains. If window frames are mounted on walls or outside window frames, repairs will be very easy. Remove the cylindrical pin on the metal cap at one end of the roller. Rub the end of the roller with medium sandpaper. If the curtains are too tight, there may be further adjustments. If the window frame is inside the window frame, in order to make the curtain fit the window frame, we need to use professional methods to shorten the curtain, or replace a new curtain.
When the installation distance between window frames is too far away, the opposite problem arises. In some cases, when you want to use curtains, it will fall. If the frame is outside the window frame, tap it lightly with a hammer to keep it close, or move one frame close to the other. At the end of the flat pin of the roller, the spring is controlled by a ratchet device. When you unwind the curtain, the ratchet device allows the spring to stop moving. If the curtain is too tight or loose, or when you loosen it, it doesn't stay in its original position, usually because of a spring or ratchet device problem. Unless the spring is broken, the trouble is easy to repair.
If the curtain can not be stopped, it is because the spring is too loose. Draw the curtain downward to rotate the roller a few times. If the spring is particularly loose, you need to pull the curtain down about half. Put the flat pin end of the roller from its window frame, then roll up the curtains with your hands and tighten it. Roll the rollers back to the window frame and try the curtains again. If it is still unable to stop, repeat the process.
If the curtain is curled up and hard to pull down, it is because the spring is too tight. After rolling up the curtain, lift the flat pin end of the roller from the window frame and loosen the curtain manually for two to three turns. Roll the roller back to the window frame and test it. Further adjustments should be made if necessary.
If the curtain can not be lowered, it may be that the ratchet wheel needs cleaning. Put the curtain down and remove the metal cap on the roller pin. Use a vacuum cleaner to remove all the dust you can see, and use a soft cloth to clean the ratchet. Then the silicone lubricant is sprayed on the ratchet device. Put the metal cap back and hang the curtains again.

Change the rope
If the shutters are cleaner, or better maintained, and the old cable is not broken, then there is no need to remove the shutters, just install a new cable. Here are a few steps to replace the soft louver drawstring:
Step 1: pull down the blinds and tilt the blades horizontally. The ends of the rope are fixed inside the lower rail. If the rails are made of wood, the ends of the knots are simply pinned to the end of the tape. If the rail is metal, pull out the spring box cover and clamp and you can see the knotted rope. Untie the end of the rope, tie the end of the new rope to this end. Tape the two ends tightly together.
Step 2: Lightly pull the old rope, pull the new rope up through this side of the blade, over the top, and through the control pulley. Set aside extra rope for the new rope and pull the rope down again, allowing it to pass through the blades on the side of the rope.
Step 3: When the end of the new rope knot reaches the rail, loosen the old rope, put it aside, and then cut off the excess rope at the top. Knot the ends of the new rope, and use the old fixed rope to fix the new rope. Replace the spring box cover of the lower rail, remove the belt clip from the old pulling rope, and install it on the new rope. Use the clip to adjust the length of the rope until the shutter can work smoothly.
